Engineered as a direct replacement, the Oil Seal 40x72x10 NBR TC (40x72x10 mm) seals 40 mm shafts against dust and moisture from the moment it seats in the 72 mm bore — common in motor shafts, gearbox input stages, centrifugal pumps and tillers.

How the TC design works
Three features define the TC type: the rubber outer case that fills small bore imperfections, the garter-spring-loaded lip that maintains contact under runout, and the auxiliary lip that acts as a dirt barrier.
About the NBR nitrile compound
Made of NBR (acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber), the seal tolerates the mineral oils and lithium greases that lubricate most machinery. Standard practice: keep NBR away from brake fluid, and store unused seals in their bag, out of sunlight.
Should the shaft read slightly below the listed size — typically a few tenths of a millimetre — no concern: the lip’s interference fit accounts for it.
