Choose the Oil Seal 17x40x7 NBR TC when a 17 mm shaft in a 40 mm housing needs a reliable double-lip barrier. Its 17x40x7 mm size is a regular in compact motors, power tools, small pumps and precision gear units.

Why the TC profile is so widely used
The TC arrangement — rubber-covered case, garter-spring main lip, external dust lip — is the industry’s go-to solution wherever a shaft spins in an oil-filled housing.
NBR nitrile rubber at a glance
NBR (Nitrile) is the standard compound for general industrial sealing. It handles mineral oils, greases and hydraulic fluids, which is why it is the default choice in gearboxes, electric motors and pumps. Keep it away from brake fluid, and store spare seals out of direct sunlight.
If your shaft measures a few tenths of a millimetre under the nominal size, that is normal — the sealing lip is designed with interference for exactly that.
