About the DHS wiper
The DHS profile is the standard dust seal for hydraulic cylinders: a double-lip polyurethane ring that keeps grit, water and ice away from the rod seal behind it. On excavators, loaders and presses working outdoors, a fresh wiper routinely doubles the life of the whole rod seal kit.
Material: PU – Polyurethane
PU (Polyurethane) is the tough one: it resists extrusion under high pressure and shrugs off abrasion that would shred ordinary rubber. Keep it away from hot water and steam above 80 °C.
If your shaft measures a few tenths of a millimetre under the nominal size, that is normal — the sealing lip is designed with interference for exactly that.
