If your 27 mm shaft is weeping oil, the Oil Seal 27x40x12 NBR TC — a TC spring-loaded seal at 27x40x12 mm — restores the barrier between the 40 mm housing and the outside world. A staple size for drive motors, planetary gearboxes, irrigation pumps and feed mixers.

Why the TC profile is so widely used
Three features define the TC type: the rubber outer case that fills small bore imperfections, the garter-spring-loaded lip that maintains contact under runout, and the auxiliary lip that acts as a dirt barrier.
Material: NBR – Nitrile
NBR (Nitrile) is the standard compound for general industrial sealing. It handles mineral oils, greases and hydraulic fluids, which is why it is the default choice in gearboxes, electric motors and pumps. Keep it away from brake fluid, and store spare seals out of direct sunlight.
It is normal for a shaft to measure a few tenths of a millimetre smaller than nominal; the sealing lip is engineered to take up that difference.
