About the split design
Split seals answer one problem: avoiding teardown. Instead of sliding a seal over the shaft end, the two halves close around the shaft in place — ideal for large shafts in mixers, mills and processing equipment.
Material: NBR – Nitrile
NBR (Nitrile) is the standard compound for general industrial sealing. It handles mineral oils, greases and hydraulic fluids, which is why it is the default choice in gearboxes, electric motors and pumps. Keep it away from brake fluid, and store spare seals out of direct sunlight.
If your shaft measures a few tenths of a millimetre under the nominal size, that is normal — the sealing lip is designed with interference for exactly that.
