Replace the worn seal on a 48 mm shaft with the Oil Seal 48x72x8 NBR TC — 48x72x8 mm, TC profile, NBR compound — it drops into a 72 mm bore and stops the leak. Popular in industrial gearboxes, conveyors and mid-size rotating equipment.

How the TC design works
The TC arrangement — rubber-covered case, garter-spring main lip, external dust lip — is the industry’s go-to solution wherever a shaft spins in an oil-filled housing.
Why NBR for this seal
The compound is NBR nitrile, selected for oil-and-grease compatibility across motors, reducers and pumps. Note the limits: brake fluid degrades nitrile, and sunlight ages stored rubber — so store spares dark and dry.
Should the shaft read slightly below the listed size — typically a few tenths of a millimetre — no concern: the lip’s interference fit accounts for it.
