One 40x78x12 mm part does the sealing: the Oil Seal 40x78x12 NBR TC wraps a 40 mm shaft in its spring-loaded lip and presses firmly into a 78 mm bore — the kind of fit seen across drive motors, planetary gearboxes, irrigation pumps and feed mixers.

Why the TC profile is so widely used
Every TC seal combines three elements: a rubber-covered case that grips the bore, a spring-loaded sealing lip that follows shaft runout, and a dust lip that shields the main lip from contamination.
About the NBR nitrile compound
NBR (Nitrile) is the standard compound for general industrial sealing. It handles mineral oils, greases and hydraulic fluids, which is why it is the default choice in gearboxes, electric motors and pumps. Keep it away from brake fluid, and store spare seals out of direct sunlight.
Don’t worry if your micrometer shows the shaft a few tenths under size — the garter-sprung lip is designed to seal against exactly that condition.
