The Oil Seal 40x65x7 NBR TC (40x65x7 mm) renews the sealing on a 40 mm shaft where grease or oil must stay in and grit must stay out — a typical fitment in workshop motors, helical gearboxes, vane pumps and tractor attachments.

How the TC design works
Three features define the TC type: the rubber outer case that fills small bore imperfections, the garter-spring-loaded lip that maintains contact under runout, and the auxiliary lip that acts as a dirt barrier.
NBR nitrile rubber at a glance
The seal lip is moulded from NBR, a nitrile rubber prized for resistance to mineral oil, grease and hydraulic fluids — the default elastomer for general machinery. It should not meet brake fluid, and stored spares fare best away from UV light.
Should the shaft read slightly below the listed size — typically a few tenths of a millimetre — no concern: the lip’s interference fit accounts for it.
