The Oil Seal 15x40x7 NBR TC is a TC rotary shaft seal sized 15x40x7 mm (ID × OD × width). It keeps oil inside and dirt outside on a 15 mm shaft seated in a 40 mm bore — a size common in household appliance motors, power tools, aquarium pumps and small gear drives.

Why the TC profile is so widely used
The TC layout brings three protections together: a rubber outer surface that grips the housing bore, a garter-spring lip that tracks slight shaft movement, and a secondary dust lip that blocks grit before it reaches the sealing edge.
About the NBR nitrile compound
The compound is NBR nitrile, selected for oil-and-grease compatibility across motors, reducers and pumps. Note the limits: brake fluid degrades nitrile, and sunlight ages stored rubber — so store spares dark and dry.
It is normal for a shaft to measure a few tenths of a millimetre smaller than nominal; the sealing lip is engineered to take up that difference.
